THE CRWTH — Where the Fiddle Comes From (DEMO)

Experience the ancient Welsh Crwth from one of the only professional players left in the world! The crwth is a rectangular six-stringed bowed lyre that was a precursor to the violin and played all over the British Isles and continental Europe. It was known as the “cruit” Ireland and Scotland, the “crowd” or “crowth” in England and when played is the most haunting, medieval sound you’ve ever heard.
